The second Beginners Weekend is happening at Mt Everest (formerly known as Eagle Mountain which was formerly known as Mt Everest) on the weekend of 19 - 21 Oct.

Everyone is welcome, especially new guys. Come and meet the rest of the club and get onto some real rock! We'll take along all the club's gear (and hopefully Jeff) so you don't need any gear, except for climbing shoes.

Hey guys. We're going bouldering at Ezemvelo on Saturday. Come join us.

Ezemvelo is a nature reserve located just north of Bronkhorstspruit containing a huge field with hundreds of grippy sandstone boulders next to the Wilge river.

It costs R50 to for a day permit and about R70 for petrol so bring R120.

We're leaving at 7am sharp from the Wall at LC de Villiers. We'll be back at around 7pm.

Bring your shoes, chalk bag and boulder pad. Also some lunch and water. There are no facilities at the boulders.

The Second Beginners Weekend will be held at Eagle Mountain near Harrismith in the Free State on the weekend of 2 to 4 September.

There is excellent bouldering and sport climbing, including multi-pitch climbs. The rock is generally the same type as Swinburne, just a bit more solid.

The accommodation goes for R40 per night. That means R80 for the weekend. Its about 320km to Harrismith. More details around the cost will be posted later.

We'll be using own transport so start organising amungst other laanies for a lift.

The Rory 2011 will be held at Swinburne on the 4-6 march 2011.
