Everest Challenge 2012

The Ultimate 24-hour climbing marathon/festival.

Each team has 24 hours to climb the full height of Mt. Everest (8848m). There will be 6 teams from universities and clubs from around the country competing.

This year we're back at the Exploratio Climbing Wall on LC de Villiers sports grounds.

It starts at 12am on Saturday 27 Oct and continues through the night to the next morning. Teams have to be at the wall at 11am for the briefing. The rules will also be sent to the team captains beforehand.

The second Beginners Weekend is happening at Mt Everest (formerly known as Eagle Mountain which was formerly known as Mt Everest) on the weekend of 19 - 21 Oct.

Everyone is welcome, especially new guys. Come and meet the rest of the club and get onto some real rock! We'll take along all the club's gear (and hopefully Jeff) so you don't need any gear, except for climbing shoes.

Reel Rock Tour 2012 in Pretoria

The 7th edition of the annual REEL ROCK TOUR 2012 is coming to Pretoria this year.

Exploratio will be showing the film on Thursday 27 Sept at the LC de Villiers Sports Centre at 19:00.

Everyone is welcome!

Cost is R60 per person. MCSA members get R10 discount and Exploratio members get R20 discount.

Tickets are available from next week on a first come, first served basis. I'll be at Explo and the MCSA's club evenings at the LC Climbing Wall from Monday to Wednesday from 7pm to 9pm. The address of the venue is listed below.

We're going climbing on Sunday at either Bronkies or Chosspile depending on the weather. We'll decide come Sunday morning.
