Three years ago someone bought a waterproof outer shell from the swiss manufacturer, Peak Performance, for me when they were in Europe. It was the best jacket I have ever owned, but then one day a friend accidently put it in the washing. Now anyone who has ever owned a Gore-Tex jacket will tell you that washing powders are the devil. Basically, the jacket now had as much waterproofness as a hammock on Beginners Weekend.

When I first got them…Weeeee…It was painful! But spending some time in then on some projects in Rocklands they did become –a little- more comfortable.
Horrendously steep sport routes and boulder problems don't stand a chance against the precision and power of the Five Ten Dragons. Five Ten gave these fire-breathing lace-ups extremely down-turned toes and soft midsoles that allow you to wrap your toes around holds which are indistinguishable to other shoes. You can stand on your imagination…and the Dragons will stick.

Good Features

Designed by the god of sport climbing, Chris Sharma. These are great for any type of climbing, comfortable tongue allows longer climbing comfort, snug heel and mildly aggressive arch makes it a great boulder/sport shoe. The Evolv XT-5 rubber is crazy sticky and the symmetrical toe box makes in a must have for climbers with mortons foot (Second Toe being longer than the big toe).

Bad Features

The sizing of the shoe is pretty weird! Try them on before buying a pair. The XT-5 rubber is very soft and tends to wear quicker than most harder rubbers.

This nifty little headlamp is one of the best and cheapest little headlamps in it's class. It has variable light control that includes 2 white light levels (that goes up to 16 Lumens), 2 strobing modes (white and red) and a full on red mode.

This little lamp shines up to 19m ahead of you and would last you up to 45Hours with the stock battery (more than enough for casual hiking or climbing and replacements are widely available).
