Everest Challenge 2011

The Everest Challenge is a 24-hour Climbing Festival/Challenge where teams of 12 compete to climb the full height of Mt. Everest (8848m) within 24 hours. Exploratio will again host the Everest Challenge this year.

The event starts on Saturday Oct 1 at 12am at the Tuks Climbing Wall on LC de Villiers and ends 24 hours later. Teams are expected to be ready 11am for the briefing. Teams should bring their own climbing equipment, except for ropes. You can find the General Information and Rules and Scoring document HERE.

You are welcome to bring a tent, gazebo, couch or any furniture you deem necessary to have a great time. We are camping at the Wall and there are ablutions and a heated swimming pool available. We will order pizzas from Romans for real cheap and there will be Boerewors Rolls for sale throughout the night. You are welcome to bring your own alcoholic drinks and refreshments.

Teams are encouraged to bring along any support, friends, relatives and generally decent people.

The entry fee per team will be around R900 which works out at R75 per team member. We will confirm this at a later stage. As usual, Explo isn't aiming to make a profit, but just to have a good time.
