Beginners Weekend in Waterval Boven

The first Beginners Weekend is again at Tranquilitas Adventure Farm in Waterval Boven this year. Its from 23 to 25 March.

Ask anyone who's been to Beginners and they'll tell you its the sickest weekend with the biggest party of the year. This is no lie!

Since sport climbing came to Boven, it's has become know as one of the top climbing destinations in the world. With endless amounts of blood-red rock and over 600 routes to choose from, you're sure to have a great time.

You don't need anything with regards to climbing gear. A pair of climbing shoes would be advised. The club is bringing all the gear, so no need to buy your own.

We leave on Friday 23 March at 5pm from the Wall VIA PARTYBUS and we'll be back by 7 or 8pm on Sunday. Pack some drinks for the road!

The cost will be around R350pp, but we'll let you know in a week or two.

We'll get there on Friday night, hopefully (ask someone what happenned last year with the bus), pitch camp and have a lekker kuier. Next morning everyone goes climbing. We'll set up a lot of top-ropes for those not keen on leading.
At 4pm-ish we'll get back to the campsite for a small bouldering competition. The campsite has a bouldering wall with a pool underneath it. Sick!
Unlimited punch and Pap-n-sous is supplied and when evening hits it's time for 'The Ceremony'. More on that when you get there... Make provisions for a long night of partying!
On Sunday you'll definitely wake up a later than usual. Usually on Sunday we break up in smaller groups to go check out the rest of the climbing in Boven. We'll meet back around 2pm at the campsite, pack up and leave for P-town.

We are camping, so here's a list of things to remember:

• Sport climbing gear (harness, shoes etc.)
• Tent/hammock
• Sleeping stuff (Usually we get pleasant weather, but come prepared)
• Food (we'll braai both nights)
• Cooking gear and stove.
• Clothes for climbing and partying.
• Cash for climbing gear at Roc n Rope (It's really cheap!)
• Swimming clothes
• Comfy shoes to walk to and from the crag. Its about 20 minutes walk.
• Slackline / firesticks / djembi / anything that creates fun
